Jefferson Parish requires a permit to plant or remove trees in the public right-of-way in front of your house or business. Click the underlined text above for a permit application on Jefferson Parish's website. 

Jefferson Parish has a list of preferred and prohibited trees to be planted in the public right-of-way. If you are planting a tree within the public right-of-way, be sure it is not included on the prohibited trees list.
